Car Free Day at Rasuna Said for 28 June 2026 is Cancelled

Ahead of the peak celebration of Jakarta's 499th Anniversary on June 27-28, 2026, the Jakarta Provincial Government has prepared a number of arrangements to ensure the event runs smoothly.

All activities are centered on Sudirman-Thamrin

A number of regulations have been prepared, ranging from regulations and closures on several road sections, the elimination of Car Free Day (CFD) activities to the provision of a special tariff of Rp 1 for public transportation under the management of the Jakarta Provincial Government.

On Saturday, June 27, 2026, engineering and road closures will be implemented on several roads from 2 PM to 11 PM, including the HI Roundabout to Dukuh Atas, Jalan M.H. Thamrin, Jalan Mas Mansyur, Jalan Sutan Syahrir, Jalan Imam Bonjol, Jalan Kotabumi, Jalan Teluk Betung, and Jalan Sumenep.

"Because from the afternoon there will be activities at the HI Roundabout and its surroundings which of course require road closures or arrangements," said Pramono, Friday (6/26).

Meanwhile, on June 28, 2026, the Sudirman-Thamrin area will not only be the location for Jakarta's anniversary celebrations but also for Bhayangkara Day. Therefore, the Jakarta Provincial Government will cancel the Car Free Day (HBKB) event on Jalan HR Rasuna Said to focus the public on the Sudirman-Thamrin area.

"All activities are centered on Sudirman-Thamrin, on June 28, Car Free Day in Kuningan or Rasuna Said is cancelled so that everything is concentrated on Jalan Sudirman, Thamrin, and the surrounding area," he added.

Meanwhile, the special Rp1 public transportation fare will not only be given to Jakarta residents, but also to all Indonesians so they can enjoy the various entertainment events prepared for Jakarta's anniversary celebrations.

"I received a report that people from around Jakarta, whether from Bogor, Bekasi, Tangerang, South Tangerang, even some from outside the city, want to attend the Jakarta Anniversary event which would be attended by several public figures or musical performers whose names are quite well-known," he admitted.
